Why do children sweat so much in car seats and strollers?
Car seats and strollers have padded, often synthetic covers that wrap closely around your child’s back and legs. Air barely moves between body and seat, so heat and moisture stay against the skin. The result: a damp back, sweaty hair and an unsettled child – especially in summer and on long journeys.
How the AeroMoov Air Layer works
The AeroMoov Air Layer has two layers. The bottom one is a polyester 3D mesh that, according to the manufacturer, cannot be compressed, so there is always room for air under your child. Heat escapes more easily and fresh air comes in from the sides. The top layer, which touches the skin, is organic cotton (80% organic cotton, 20% polyester) and absorbs moisture. It is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and machine washable at 40°C; do not tumble dry.

Safety: when to use a liner in a car seat – and when not to
A car seat is tested in the form in which the manufacturer sells it. As Seattle Children’s hospital warns, aftermarket products that do not come with the seat can prevent your child from being secured correctly and may void the seat’s warranty. AeroMoov states on its website which car seat groups each liner is designed for, but we could not find published crash test results for use in a car seat. So:
- Read your car seat manual first. If the car seat manufacturer only allows original inserts or advises against additional liners, do not use the liner in that seat – use it in the stroller instead.
- Use the correct size for your car seat group; the liner must not bunch up or cover the buckles.
- Harness straps go through the slots in the liner – never place the liner over the straps or between your child and the straps.
- Re-tighten the harness after fitting and check your child is held as snugly as without the liner.
- If in doubt, contact the car seat manufacturer or retailer.

Is a breathable liner suitable for a newborn?
The Group 0+ size (0–13 kg) is designed for infant car seats from birth. Check your car seat manual first and re-tighten the harness after fitting.
Can I use the same liner in the car seat and stroller?
The manufacturer says the liners fit many car seats and strollers, but the size made for your specific seat fits best; Group B is designed for strollers.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash at 40°C, no tumble dryer. Air dry.
Does the liner affect car seat safety?
Any accessory not supplied with the seat can affect how your child is secured. Follow the car seat manufacturer’s instructions and check harness tightness after fitting. If the manual does not allow extra inserts, use the liner in the stroller only.
Which size do I need for a Group 2/3 seat?
If the seat uses a 5-point harness or has a crotch strap, choose Group 2/3 with legs. If your child is secured with the car’s seat belt, choose Group 2/3.
