✅ Best suited for
The Nuna Pipa Urbn infant car seat is designed for the youngest babies, from birth up to approximately 75 cm in height or 13 kg in weight, and is installed rear-facing. Thanks to integrated Isofix connectors, you can install it directly onto the Isofix system in your car without an additional base, and if needed, also with the car's seatbelt. It's an excellent choice for families who frequently switch vehicles, use taxis or rental cars, since it's also certified for use on an airplane. The infant car seat is compatible with all Nuna strollers, making everyday use easier.
🤔 Less suitable if
The seat is not suitable for children taller than 75 cm or heavier than 13 kg – at that point you need to move on to the next group of car seats. Also, never install the infant carrier on a seat with an active airbag.

Never seen before! A milestone in the field of baby gear innovation
The Nuna® brand has delivered yet another revolutionary novelty on the global market. The unique and extremely lightweight infant car seat Nuna® Pipa™ Urbn with integrated Isofix connectors allows the car seat to be installed on the Isofix system in the car without an Isofix base. The ultra-lightweight car seat weighing only 3.3 kg (weight without the support cushion and canopy) enables an ultra-light way of travelling by car and completely simple installation on a stroller (compatible with any Nuna® stroller model). The world's first infant car seat of this kind offers a practical and safe solution for reliable travel with any form of transport.
Travelling by family car, taxi or rental vehicle – travel the way that suits you best, simply and stress-free. The Nuna® Pipa™ Urbn infant car seat also holds a TUV certificate for air travel and is approved for use on aeroplanes.
Travelling with children in the most modern way
Modern parents often navigate between rushing to work, nursery, school, coffee, lunch, to the shops – by car or taxi and increasingly also using car-sharing services (vehicle rental). Daily and weekend adventures intertwine with shorter and longer family breaks, which we often travel to by plane. The busy everyday life of a family with a baby is nowadays extremely dynamic. The forward-thinking Nuna® brand offers a solution for travelling with a baby in a new way. The Nuna® Pipa™ Urbn infant car seat provides a safe and practical solution. The car seat can be used in any vehicle (car, taxi, rental vehicle) and even on a plane.
Thanks to the integrated Isofix connectors in the car seat itself, the use of an Isofix base is not required. The car seat can be installed directly onto the available Isofix system in the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have an Isofix system, the car seat can be installed using the car's safety belt, with the help of the side and rear belt guides. The guides are also integrated.
Safety, safety and safety again – the only constant on the path of extraordinary development of the renowned Nuna® brand
The Nuna® brand always puts the safety of the youngest family members first. The expert team adheres to this principle also when designing innovations such as the Nuna® Pipa™ Urbn infant car seat, which represents an important milestone on the path of baby gear development. This is the first infant car seat of its kind that also impresses with premium materials that ensure safety and comfort. Complete safety is provided by a strong and durable frame and Aeroflex™ foam, which is lightweight and flexible and as such can reduce the force transferred to the child in the event of a collision – it absorbs and disperses the force. The built-in SIP system provides additional side protection in the event of a side impact. The Nuna® Pipa™ Urbn infant car seat is equipped with a 3-point safety harness with soft padding at the shoulders and crotch buckle. The car seat meets the latest ECE-R129/03 standard. The Isofix connectors integrated into the car seat are equipped with colour indicators that allow you to verify the car seat is correctly installed.

However, when installing the Pipa™ Next on an ISOFIX system, the use of an ISOFIX base is required, whereas the Pipa™ Urbn has ISOFIX connectors already integrated into the car seat itself.
What crash tests were performed on the Pipa™ Urbn?
The Pipa™ Urbn car seat successfully passed the test and meets the latest ECE-R129/03 standard. Nuna® also conducts additional internal crash tests with significantly greater acceleration forces than those required by the ECE-R129/03 standard.
How does the Pipa™ Urbn perform in crash tests?
The Pipa™ Urbn car seat was tested in frontal, rear and side impacts based on the safety regulation ECE-R129 for car seats. The safety performance of the Pipa™ Urbn car seat exceeded the standard requirements by up to 40%. Tests showed that it provides safety with any method of installation in a car.
Is installing the Pipa™ Urbn car seat with a car belt equally safe as installing it with integrated ISOFIX connectors on an ISOFIX system?
Both methods of installation effectively protect against injuries in the event of a collision, if performed correctly. How can I use the Pipa™ Urbn car seat in a vehicle not equipped with an ISOFIX system?
