Kids' cameras

When choosing a children's camera, consider:

• Type of camera: classic digital cameras are mainly for taking and storing photos, while instant-print models let the child print a photo right away and hold it in their hands.
• Child's age: lighter cameras with simple controls are suitable for the youngest children, while more advanced models with more features suit slightly older children.
• Durability: since this is a toy that children carry around with them, a sturdy exterior that can withstand the occasional drop is important.
• Extra supplies: for instant-print cameras, check whether replacement print paper rolls are available.
• Ease of use: large buttons and a simple menu make independent use easier without a parent's help.
