If an item in your order is temporarily out of stock, it is placed on backorder — meaning it has a longer lead time and will be dispatched once it arrives back in our warehouse.
By default we keep your order together and send it complete once the backordered item arrives. In the meantime your order stays on hold. Stock availability is shown on the product page and in the cart, and we will keep you informed by email about the expected timing.
Only if the lead time of a backordered item is very long do we consider splitting your order, so you do not have to wait for everything. In that case we will usually contact you first to agree how you would prefer to proceed:
- wait and receive everything together, or
- receive the in-stock items first, with the backordered item following in a separate parcel (no extra delivery cost), or
- cancel the backordered item.
Just reply with your order number and let us know your preference.
